Amarilis Whitty is Senior Communications & PR Director, highly skilled in establishing and driving multi-channel and market communications strategies, campaigns and partnerships for large global companies and franchise brands within consumer and business communications.
As PR Director for Mattel EMEA, she is responsible for the US corporation’s vast communications portfolio of global consumer brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher- Price, Thomas & Friends, Scrabble, Masters of the Universe, Matchbox, Fireman Sam, MEGA, among others. She has successfully led and forged major purpose-driven partnerships and multi-market comms campaigns including the Barbie Olympic role model program, the Barbie European Space Agency partnership, the Thomas & Friends and United Nations collaboration and the Fisher-Price 90th Anniversary.
Working with a roster of different PR and content communication agencies across earned and digital media in over 10 European and middle-eastern countries, Whitty also leads Corporate Communications looking after the senior executive media presence in the region, and heads up the Sustainability Committee for Mattel EMEA as well as being Board member and international lead for The Mattel Children’s Foundation.
Amarilis holds a master’s degree and is also professionally certified by the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Having lived in Latin-America and the US, she is fluent in English and Spanish, and now lives in London with her family.
